Registration period for VPK

Registration period for VPK, magnet and special transfer schools begins january 1

Duval County Public Schools invites parents and students to save the date of January 7^th,  for their next special event.

“School Showcase Saturday” will be held on January 7^th, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, allowing parents to visit all the schools in the district that they would like their child to attend. During that day, parents and students will be able to talk with the principals, educators, inquire about the educational programs available and observe the environment of the schools, to make an informed decision when enrolling or transferring the student.

Campus field trips will be held at 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 12:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. All DCPS schools will participate, as this event is designed to help families explore the multitude of schools and educational options available to them as the application season approaches for VPK programs, Magnet, and special transfer option schools. The period to apply for admission opens on January 1st, ending on February 28th.

Application to VPK, magnet, or special transfer option school is not a mandatory process. This option provides an opportunity to choose the school of their choice to families who want to explore other educational alternatives that are outside of the student’s designated area of residence.
