30 years frozen embryos, give life to twins
Embryos that were frozen for the longest time, resulted in the birth of twins in the state of Tennessee. The embryos had been stored since April 22, 1992. Rachel Ridgeway adopted the embryos and gave birth to a girl named Lydia Ann and a boy named Timothy Ronald. The National Center for Embryo Donation hopes that the birth of these twins may lead more people to “be encouraged to experience the blessings of embryo adoption.” The embryos were fertilized when the adoptive father was only 5 years old, “God gave life to Lydia and Timothy when I was only 5 years old, and he has been preserving those lives ever since,” said Phillip Ridgeway. According to Ridgeway, “they are our oldest children and at the same time the youngest because of the circumstances in which they came into our lives.”
