Everything deserves a second chance!

I arrived to this Country with an interior designer diploma, but like many of us who seek other horizons to achieve progress, life led me to start from scratch. I had to live in motels for 10 months and my first job was sweeping floors in a restaurant. With great pride I decided to start my story and fight for the dreams that accompanied me the day I got on the plane!

When I got my first apartment, a lot of second-hand stuff arrived without asking for it. With great affection, people who had the desire to help offered second-hand furniture, so it was impossible to say no, and I accepted them with great gratitude. It could be that I didn’t liked the color or textures of the furniture given to me… but that was not an excuse to reject it because I needed it!

Sitting looking at a living room set, a table, a dresser, the opportunity came to get that interior designer diploma that I had hidden in a suitcase, and that I carried with me along with so many dreams and hopes of achieving and fulfilling goals.

I discovered everything I could do on a budget and that became my passion!

Recently, I was able to achieve my dream of buying my own home.  I had no budget for new furniture, we only had beds but with the joy and inspiration of becoming a homeowner for the first time, I “took the bull by the horns,” and put my diploma and skills to work.

I have painted furniture with a brush, I have transformed tables, upholstered chairs, made cushions without having to sew, covered walls with vinyl wallpaper, made coffee tables with cardboard boxes…

And I assure you 85 percent of my home decoration is second-hand!

My goal is to inspire people to begin to visualize that with few resources, anyone can renew furniture and improve the appearance of their home. Choose the colors of the season, visualize a transformation of the old and modernize it!

I believe that “everything in life should have a second chance”, so look for those features that catch your eye in the pieces that you can get at thrift stores or garage sales and get to work! Everything can be transformed and adapted to your personality and taste. We can’t be afraid of trying, just put your effort into it, and if it doesn’t come out on the first try…continue until you achieve what you visualized!

I assure you that with a small budget, a lot of imagination and motivation, everyone can renovate and create wonders! I invite you to look at the furniture that you have at your home, the one that you see as boring or monotonous… take a photo and begin the transformation process in your imagination and dare to bring your concept to life with a lot of work and commitment.

Decorating our home is a way of sharing our stories and is what gives personality to our space.

Take the risk of being different and creative… without a lot of money, but with a lot of passion! I guarantee that the energy that will emanate from your home will bring joy and that of those who visit you, will be amazed, and the pride you will feel as you enjoy in a daily basis the transformation of the pieces of furniture that you selected to give a second chance to turn the imperfect or old to something beautiful and chick will take you to experience a feeling of success that is indescribable.
